Laxmidhar Educational Trust was Established under Indian Trust Act 2001 No:-162., Dated:-15/03/2008, with an aim provide & promote Education on Technical & Management subjects in Rourkela & through out Odisha by Establishing Technical & Management Institutes with proper supervision & guidance under the trust.

The earliest step was taken to set up technical Institutions at various places in Rourkela with best possible Infrastructure & Intake Capacity on various Technical Branches. The success & reputation of both the technical institute & the dynamic leadership of the Director inspired & encouraged the Management to think over to spread the activities of the Trust in the field of Higher Education in Rourkela. Keeping in view the high social value, the Trust has dedicated it’s all efforts & achieved the target by getting permission to start One Year Full Time Course on Industrial Safety (Post Diploma in Industrial Safety) under the affiliation of State Council for Technical Education & Vocational Training, Odisha, w.e.f. the session 2009-10 with an intake capacity of 120 (90 Fresher + 30 Experienced) students in a new Institute established under the trust naming “Koel Institute of Industrial Safety” At:-Dalposh, Near N.I.T., Back Post, Rourkela-769042.

The vision of the management of the Trust is not limited to 21st century only but beyond that. The Taste, Preferences, Choice, way of Living, Culture & Society in our country have continuously been changing rapidly since two decades. This changing socio cultural life has developed new set of demands in the market in regards to products & services. This in turn compelled our Governments & Private Entrepreneurs to set up new Industries & Factories to cater the society & fulfill the demands in every aspect of the life of human being. It can be predicated that the levels of income & standard of life will keep on improving the years to come.

In view of the above, we can simultaneously expect more hazards & risks in every step of our life, especially in Industrial work life. As such the growing demand of developing safety awareness among people & engagement of more & more no of safety professionals will be increasing day by day in every Constructions & Process Industries, in coming years. Even many service Industries are also showing interest in appointing safety professionals for the safety of their Men, Machine, Mechanics & Building etc.

Therefore the Management look forward to increase it’s Infrastructures to enhance the intake capacity of safety students under PDIS course and to start new courses related to Fire & Environment protection specifically.
